Counselling

At times we can all feel stressed, overwhelmed, depressed, and anxious. When feelings like these last for a long time or become difficult to manage, they can begin interfering with your well being, relationships and general enjoyment of life. This is where Counselling can help. Counselling tends to be relatively short term and to focus on current specific personal difficulties.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a longer process which helps people to understand the deeper roots of their present difficulties with a view to developing a greater understanding and being better able to manage in life.

Both Counselling & Psychotherapy can help with issues such as:

Anxiety or stress

Depression

Emotional or behavioural issues

Low Self Esteem

Abuse

Bereavement or Loss

Relationship issues

Unhelpful patterns of behaviour

Difficulties relating to childhood or the past

Unforeseen or unwelcome changes in life

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

At times we can all feel stressed, overwhelmed, depressed, and anxious. When such feelings are being fuelled by negative thoughts and beliefs, CBT can help. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a proactive, practical and solution-focussed approach to personal problems. Both the client and therapist work together towards understanding problems in terms of the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviour.

The more actively involved the client is in this goal-orientated process, the better the outcome. CBT is often action-orientated, with specific technique-driven, brief, direct and time-limited exercises for specific psychological disorders.

CBT can help with issues like:

Addressing specific fears or phobias

Obsessive thoughts and behaviours

Managing Stress

Anxiety and social anxiety

Managing depression

Session Fees

My fee for a standard one-hour session is €80.

Payment can be made in cash on the evening of your appointment or by bank transfer, depending on what suits you best.

I also work with therapists who are currently in training, and I offer a reduced sliding-scale rate of €70 per hour for these sessions.

This allows me to support those developing their professional practice while ensuring the work remains accessible.

If you have any questions about fees or payment options, I'm always happy to discuss them with you.
